Rules for Majors
Scramble (March)
Scramble is a team format designed for maximum vibes and minimum scores. No handicaps needed.
  • Every player on team hits a shot
  • Team selects the best shot and everyone goes to that spot
  • Everyone drops within a club length of the chosen ball and hit from there
  • No club length relief for chip/putts
  • Continue like this until a ball is in the hole
Shamble (April)
Shamble is the love child of scramble and best ball, a team format that relies more on individual performances.
  • Tee shots are a scramble setup, so the team can select the best tee shot to use
  • After the tee shot, each player continues the hole independently
  • The team's score is the best score (after handicap adjustment) of the team on that hole
Best Ball (May)
Best ball is a team format but it is completely built on the individual performance of each team member. Handicaps will be used so that each player on the team has a chance to be a hero on any given hole.
  • Every player will play their own shot from tee to green
  • The team's score is the "best ball", taking the best score (after handicap adjustment) of the team on that hole
Ryder Cup (June)
Perhaps the most dynamic major of all: the Ryder Cup. A competition built on race, a lot of pride, and a little bit of sportsmanship. 2 teams will be formed, and 2-man partners will play together. Points will be given to the team that wins as well as individual partnerships that score the best.
  • Holes 1-6: Scramble
  • Holes 7-12: Best Ball
  • Hole 13-18: Alternate Shot (true alternate)
  • One partner tees odd holes, the other even holes
Drunk Scramble (July)
An unbelievably electric explosion of golf fun. The drunk scramble is where the best memories are made, albeit hazy ones.
  • Scramble format for golf play
  • Every drink consumed between the 1st tee shot and the putt falling on 18 counts as 1 stroke off the team's score
  • If you yack during your round, +5 stroke penalty
Solos (August)
Legends will be born at the final major of the year. Straight forward golf will be played just like monthly rounds, with a larger sum of points available.
  • Handicaps will be the august monthly handicap table
